Betting in Uganda is licensed by the National Lotteries and Gaming Regulatory Board (NLGRB).

Tax on winnings

15% withholding tax on betting and gaming winnings from 1 July 2026, charged on the net win (payout minus stake), deducted by the operator. National lottery winnings are outside this rule. Operators separately pay 30% of stakes minus payouts.
